Overview

Our current website is our newest one as well. Designed in late September of 2011 but not revealed until a month later, it uses JavaScript to animate many things and keep the attention of the user. There are effects everywhere on the site, from the animated menu's on the nav bar, to to animated scrolling up on the Back to Top button in the footer. It uses CSS3 to style the website. It is organized and effective in almost all browsers. The width of the website is 920px throughout the entire website (excluding the photo albums). It uses graphically appealing headers for each page to tell you what page you're on and what if offers. All images are compressed for website meaning that they are very small in size. This greatly helps the load speed of the website.

    Starting out with the basics

To design a succesful website you need a rough draft. Starting out a website is much like an essay. With an essay you need to plan things out and make notes. First make notes on what you want in your website and how you want it to look, then plan out where everything is going to go. A successful website has its content evenly spread out throughout its pages and not cluttered. After you thought of what you need, you then could make a small design on how the site will look. If you do this, it will greatly help you design your website and lets others know how it's going to look like.

How to design a website
    Designing

Next step is to actually make the website. Building a website by hand using HTML in a program like Wordspread is very difficult, and requires a lot of knowledge in HTML and CSS and possible Javascript coding. Using a website designing program, you can easily make and edit your website with few clicks. We use Web Page Maker, a program that lets us easily build a custom website and edit it with simple tools.
